Through community events and free materials, we educate and raise awareness of the real and potential benefits of stem cell storage and therapies, aiming to reach as many families as possible

Committed to Education and Raising Awareness

Stem cells can save lives, but so can awareness of their medical benefits.

At LifeCells we consider it our duty to raise awareness of the real and potential benefits of stem cell therapies and the necessity of stem cell storage.

Through community education events, effective partnerships with local professionals and free educational materials, we aim to reach as many potential and expectant parents as possible so that they can make an informed choice about what to do with their umbilical cord blood and tissue. Through the many hundreds of thousands of stem cell transplants and therapies that have been performed globally, lives have been saved and improved. What is more, with current research into stem cell therapies continuing to produce exciting therapy breakthroughs, the benefits of having perfectly matched stem cells available delay-free is increasing all the time. That is why we are dedicated to our educational mission.

Only a tiny proportion of umbilical cord blood and tissue are preserved in public or private banks, with the vast majority being disposed of as medical waste. Given the medical potential of these materials we think this must change!

We have produced a wide array of information leaflets that can be accessed online and at our partner locations, but we also run public lectures and drop-in sessions for new and prospective parents, so that everyone can take control of the future health of their family.

Every birth brings with it an opportunity, and too frequently this opportunity is missed by parents who simply were not aware of the chance at their fingertips:

"There's only one chance to store your child’s stem cells and that's at birth. I wish I could have made that choice for myself, but the decision lies with the Parents or Grandparents. I wish I'd known when my babies had been born, my son especially, since he was born with immune deficiency. Instead of throwing away his placenta and cord it could have helped heal him! Why didn’t anyone tell me!!???  Surely health professionals have a responsibility to tell us of these options available. Then we make our choice. It's remarkable how little it costs and yet it could save your child’s life." - Sharon

We hope that frustrations like Sharon’s will not be felt in the future, and we encourage you and all of our clients to help us spread awareness of stem cell banking and its remarkable benefits.

Partners In A Better Tomorrow

A key to achieving our mission has been our partnerships with local health care providers, community institutions and universities. Our partners share our educational ethos and help us to spread knowledge of cord blood and tissue banking far and wide across the UK. By building our network we have been able to reach more parents than ever before.
