Your collection kit will be delivered as soon as you register to ensure you have everything in place before the big day

Providing Protection from Collection to Storage

After registering for stem cell banking with LifeCells, you will receive your LifeCells Collection System. This unique kit has been specifically designed for the collection of umbilical cord blood and cord tissue. It contains everything your LifeCells phlebotomist will need to safely collect your samples after the delivery of your child, and the state-of-the-art packaging transforms into a crush-resistant medical-grade storage cube ready for transportation back to our facility.

Our Collection System is an integral part of our validated collection process and helps us ensure that your baby’s umbilical cord blood and cord tissue are protected in transit to our labs. During transport, your baby’s samples must be kept between 2 and 25°C, and our Collection System and validated processes are designed to ensure that this key temperature balance is maintained and monitored during transport.

Every item in our Collection System is hand-checked before we dispatch it to you, and delivery is arranged as soon as you register with us, allowing you to get everything in place before the big day. The system will be delivered via Royal Mail Special Delivery within 48-hours of registering, ensuring your Collection System will be all ready for you to take to the hospital when delivery day arrives.

When the day does finally come, it is vital that you do not forget to take your Collection System with you to the hospital to pass on to your LifeCells phlebotomist.
